The treatments are designed and tailored to meet your specific needs This can mean focussing on one particular troubled area, or giving a more general treatment for the entire legs for example.
The sessions will typically start with a discussion about any issues needing attention, including a brief background history of exercise/stress/work etc to help determine the nature and/or cause of the problem.
The treatment will probably be quite uncomfortable at times, indeed it needs to be to help restore good muscle function. However it doesn't (and shouldn't) need to be tear-jerkingly painful! This can often be counter productive, leaving muscles in a state of shock. Please don't think you'll drift off to sleep to the sound of crashing waves.........It won't happen!!
Once the physical aspect of the treatment is finished, you will no doubt be given some stretches to perform on a very regular basis. In all honesty, if you don't do these stretches you're probably going to waste a lot of your time and money having endless treatments with limited results.
If an injury is evident then the treatment will target the affected area and any other muscles that may have been affected. The depth and intensity of the massage is heavily dictated by the nature of the injury and which muscle is damaged.
With a routine maintenance massage, the idea is to ‘free up’ the muscles and keep them in top working order. Again the depth of the treatment is dependent of the condition of the area being treated and the individuals needs and preferences.
These two are the most regular types of treatment. The intervals for maintenance massage are entirely down the individuals needs. An elite athlete could very well have one after every hard training session, where as someone that suffers from neck and shoulder tension caused by office work may well have one every three or four weeks.
If an injury is evident then one treatment a week for 3-4 weeks may well suffice.
Some clients will book a session for the day after a race or competition.
All of the regular treatments available last approximately 1 hour but if you needed longer (to treat multiple problems for example) then there is the possibility of a double session. I would suggest that double sessions are left until you have had at least a couple of regular length treatment first.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Obviously to treat muscles, the relevant item/s of clothing will need to be removed. This is done in privacy and you would be more than welcome to bring a friend, partner or chaperone with you if that would make you feel more comfortable. Modesty coverings are always used.
You may wish to bring or wear shorts to your appointment, however we do supply towels for covering up. Our Covid protocol is to use paper couch roll to cover up as this is a single use, disposable and recyclable product. If you wish to bring your own fluffy towel, please feel free to do so.
